Residential Sales Broke a Record in the History of the Turkish Republic
Residential property sales increased by 10.6 percent in 2015 compared to the previous year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). A total of 1,289,320 residential properties were sold last year.
Of the total 2015 residential property sales, Istanbul had the highest share with 18.6 percent, 239,767 properties. Followed by Ankara with 146,537 residential properties and İzmir with 77,796 properties . The fewest residential properties were sold in the province of Hakkari 139.
According to report released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the number of apartments sold during the 2013 year was one million and 157 thousand and 190 apartments, while the number rose to one million and 165 thousand and 381 flat in 2014, while in 2015, bringing the number of apartments to one million and 289 thousand and 320 apartments, to achieve an increase by 10.6 percent, which is the highest in the history of the Turkish Republic.
